Rome City Tour : Photo Highlights

What do you think of Rome? Like or loath it?

I had been to Rome often in last 15 years, but it was always for work and so I not seen much of the tourist attractions. So I relished visiting the city on a full-day City Tour when we called in Italy on the MSC Lirica. I had an amazing day exploring the sights and soaking in the history around me.

The city is littered with narrow streets that suddenly open up into grand piazzas surrounded by dramatic buildings and impressive fountains. On my tour I visited the Colosseum  (always impresses) and the nearby Forum. I also got to see the Trevi Fountain (under going restoration but still visible), the incredible Pantheon (including inside which had not done before and was amazed by) and the Piazza Navona (which I adored the fountain in – and enjoyed some Gelato!).

There is so much to explore and do that a day was just not enough. A return visit is required – and soon!
